If you are in escrow and planning to build an ADU, it is important to make sure that you can properly build AND permit what you are envisioning BEFORE you commit to purchasing a property. Make sure all of your diligence is completed PRIOR to the end of your investigation period. Most importantly:
1. Complete a topographical boundary line survey.
2. Hire a contractor to provide rough numbers.
3. Hire an architect to design & confirm that the ADU is conforming to setback and size requirements.
